I have finally had a few minutes to update the blog. For the last few weeks, we have been moving into our new house and I have been redecorating the studio and as usual we have had several delays :-( All is good now but of course I have a millions things to do so hopefully will be back on schedule over the next few weeks. Moving house is something I don’t want to experience again for along time!!!

The first wedding to blog is Lucy and Tom’s wedding. I will be updating the post with the bridal interviews when I receive them. The day took place at the stunning Osmaston Park in Derbyshire. This is definitely a place you want to take outdoor photos but unfortunately the rain was out of control, the definition of torrential. Okay so were thinking no outdoor photos due to the crazy out of control rain but a miracle occurred 30 mins before we were sitting down for dinner. The rain stopped!!! So out we went loving life, cameras in hand to capture Lucy and Tom in the gardens of a place that means so much to them. We got the Lake shot guys :-)

Wedding photography is something you have to do rain or shine. Besides the lucky 30 mins of no rain and taking the portraits outdoors the rest of the time Jill and I and equipment were soaked capturing those all important documentary photos. Yes it’s no fun taking photos in the pouring rain but there are no retakes in this game of wedding photography.

When does it stop, two weddings over the weekend (images coming soon) a wedding on Saturday, moving house, redecorating the studio and yesterday I photographed the launch of Eternal Spirits new bridal wear collection at the beautiful Thrumpton Hall in Nottinghamshire. I’m loving every minute of it! Eternal Spirits are famed for their handcrafted corsetry and lingerie made in house in Nottingham to traditional Victorian corsetry techniques. The corsets and lingerie have been featured and worn by celebrities including the likes of Dita Von Teese, Girls Aloud and Leonna Lewis. The bridal gowns are stunning and will be a huge success. The collaboration between the team members was outstanding and I’m looking forward to working with you all on future shoots. A huge thanks to the models who excelled at making my job much easier and to my friend/photographer Stuart Wood for being my lighting guru. You rock man! Oh and before I forget a big thanks to Dominic for the endless supply of coffee.

Looking forward to seeing them in the nationals!

The team:

The super talented Susi Henson – Eternal Spirits

A hair stylist with major skills – James White

Ali Gunn – make-up artistry at it’s best.

A few more:

Saturday was the beautiful wedding of Emily and Ben at Holme Peirrepont Hall in Nottinghamshire. The day started at Emily’s parents house for some bridal prep action and then off to the church located on the grounds of Holme Pierrepont. After a wonderful service, we all walked over to the hall. It was one of the hottest days of the year but something we all cherished as we don’t get days like that often here in the UK. Emily looked beautiful and Ben was Mr. Cool. They were truly blessed to have such awesome weather on their special day. You guys were brilliant and I hope you have the best time in Borneo.

Once the ceremony was over we headed to Colwick Hall hotel for the marquee reception. The weather couldn’t have been better, we were loving it.
