Brilliant day on Saturday with Rob and Kim. Rob is a friend, avid photographer and has been following my photographic adventures on facebook, so it was super cool to photograph his special day. The whole day took place at Stoke Rochford Hall with the Aston Martin DB6 parked outside Kim looked stunning and her Paul Smith shoes were awesome! Enough said, enjoy your honeymoon!

Jill and I had an absolutely brilliant day with Jade and Chris. The nerves were flowing during the preparations as well as the rain but spirits were high for some dry weather! After a special church ceremony, we headed back to Woodborough Hall in the rain. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot, the rain stopped!!! It was great as we were able to enjoy the beautiful gardens Woodborough Hall has to offer. Enjoy your honeymoon, it sounds amazing! Big thanks to Tillyboo events for hosting a great day and to my assistant Jill for all her help.

Saturday Jill and I spent the day with Claire and Chris! The day started at the exclusive Old Vicarage Boutique hotel in Southwell. From there it was ceremony time at a beautiful church in the countryside. After the wonderful ceremony, we all headed to one of my favourite venues Norwood Park. I have photographed many weddings at Norwood Park and every time I seem to love it more and more. As with all of my clients, Claire and Chris love photography and know how important photography is on this once in a lifetime event. Jill and I had so much fun capturing and documenting all the love, laughter and emotion that spills out of family and friends throughout the day. These two are very in love, which always makes my job so much easier. Have a great honeymoon and thanks for everything. As usual a big thanks to Tillyboo events and my super talented assistant Jill.

For all the photographers who follow my blog. Equipment used was 2 Canon 5D Mark II’s, a Canon 16-35mm, a Canon 70-200mm and natural light. The only time flash was used was for the group photo and first dance! Another brilliant wedding adventure I was privileged to photograph. The day started at Sarah’s family home and then onto the beautiful village church in Woodborough. It brought back great memories as I used to visit the church as a kid. After the intimate ceremony, we headed to Woodborough Hall. The weather was brilliant and everybody was having fun outdoors just like a summer wedding should be. The best part of my day were the speeches, absolutely hilarious! Well done Ian! As usual, a big thanks to Tillyboo Events for hosting a rockin’ day and chef Des Sweeney for his mouthwatering menu. Also a big thanks to my assistant Jill. Have a great time on your honeymoon!

The one thing I find hard during the editing stage is choosing the 20-30 images for the blog as I could post 100’s from each wedding!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

What a day! Jill and I started at the family home and then onto a magnificent church in Mansfield. We then headed to Thrumpton Hall, which is one of my local venues that I love to capture wedding adventures. What can I say about Helena and Eugene? Super cool and classy comes to mind! They both looked great and Helena WOW! The marquee was awe-inspiring. Vaas florists blew the guest away with their arrangements. A day that will surely be remembered for a long time!

A few months ago Kelly W. from Professional Photographer magazine wanted to come along on a wedding with me and write a feature for the new magazine. We had a great day and you can read all about it below.

After posting this I received a comment which just totally made my day! It’s brilliant getting comments/testimonials from your clients but getting one from a well respected colleague just hits the spot. Thanks Tim!

“How do you justify a starting package of £2,500?” Because the wedding images are the most important thing to have at a wedding that’s why. The cake is eaten, the limo driven away; even if it’s dried out and encased for posterity, the bouquet loses its beautiful natural colours, and at some point the bride and groom like us all will pass away.

Apart from the now antique rings, the only family heirloom from my grandparents’ wedding is their wonderful album. It is the most important thing to have from the day because unlike the rings, they can be shared forever by friends and family.

If I were to be getting married again, I would be joining the queue and altering the date in order to have that very special occasion recorded by Crash Taylor – someone who shares my passion for photography that is matched by the skills to do it properly.

But it’s not about his technical knowledge or expensive cameras. For me successful wedding photography hinges on the photographer’s ability to form a relationship with the client that brings out the absolute best from the day. Who wants a grumpy git or technical perfectionist who takes two hours setting up posing whilst the rest of the congregation stand around twiddling their thumbs? The job of the best wedding photographers is to record the magic of the day without staging everything to some pre determined format like a studio shoot. Equally important it’s not just a rambling opportunist shoot-anything-that-moves-then-edit-later saga so often employed by novice camera owners who think that the job is an easy one.

Crash epitomises everything I value in a great wedding photographer and his evangelical way of selling his service is indicative of someone who is impassioned about his craft. Often people who are this good make lousy husbands and fathers because the photography comes first every time and family play second fiddle. This couldn’t be levelled at him however as the only two events I’ve known him to postpone or cancel were both because his family came first.

For these reasons Crash is (in my somewhat less than humble opinion) the UK’s No 1 photographer and NO I’m not on commission, I’m not related, I’m not having sex with him and I don’t owe him money. £2500? That’s a bargain.”

Lucy and Mark are doctors and definitely the coolest doctors I have ever met! Jill and I had a brilliant time capturing their special day at Risley Hall hotel. The day was full of love, family, laughter and friends, what more could you want on your special day. Enjoy your honeymoon guys, you deserve it!

What a brilliant day! The day started at the Redhouse Hotel and then onto a beautiful church in Grantham. After the ceremony, we all headed back to the Redhouse for the reception. Family and friends had so much fun, it was definition of a summer wedding. Have a great time on the Amalfi Coast!

I get a lot of photographers asking how I document a wedding from beginning to end. So here we go. 80% of the wedding I shoot in a photojournalistic way capturing the moments as they happen. The other 20% is capturing and creating beautiful signature portraits of the bridal party and most importantly the bride and groom. Images that capture the love and romance they both share for each other in a natural way and having tons of fun in the process. A lot of photographers shoot a wedding 100% in a photojournalistic way which is fine but I think you should be capable of doing both

A few weeks ago Jill and I were at Beaumanor Hall to celebrate Becky and Mark’s wedding. The day started at Becky’s parents home and then a horse and carriage to the local church. From there we headed to Beaumanor Hall in Leicestershire. The weather was brilliant all day, which was awesome as they had a Rodeo Bull and a bouncy castle for the kids. Becky looked beautiful in her dress. Jill and Kelly described it as stunning and Mark well he just looked cool.

A big thanks to Kelly Weech from Professional Photographer magazine for joining me on the day. She is writing a feature on my wedding photography for the new magazine Turning Pro. I can’t wait to read it and check out the behind the scene photos ! Also, the photos you took of Mark and the boys are brilliant, thank you!
