Another fabulous wedding adventure last Saturday in my favourite city, London. It was an all day affair from bridal prep to the first dance. The action never stopped and everybody had a blast. I was even chauffeured around London in a 1950’s Rolls Royce with the beautiful Anna and Mr Cool Andrew. It was the best time I have ever had in London and I want to thank you for allowing me to photograph your special day. Also a big thank you to my assistant Emma for keeping me up to date throughout the day. Have a great 3 weeks in Vietnam!

We had a look through our gallery together last night and got so emotional! The photographs are absolutely fantastic, you’ve managed to capture such a great variety of images – romantic shots, family and fun shots – I love the way you’ve just caught so many natural moments between me and Graham, and the guests as well, we also can’t believe how editorial some of the pics look!, especially those in the red room. I know the photos reflect just another creative ‘working’ day for you, but you’ve really captured the best day of our lives for us in the most beautiful images we could have hoped for – can’t thank you (and Emma) enough.  Not sure how we are going to be able to decide which ones to put in the album!

Saturday I was at Woodborough Hall celebrating Jaime and Spencer’s wedding adventure. Despite the non-stop rain and cold everybody had an awesome time. It was an intimate wedding with approx 30 guests so it was very cozy and full of merrymaking. A big thanks to Woodborough Hall and Des Sweeney for hosting a fabulous wedding as usual. Can you tell us where and how Spencer proposed? The night before he was due to go to the highlands for a week to run one of his weight loss holidays. We were at home.

The most memorable moment of the day?

Jaime – Watching my guests arrive in the morning from my bedroom window, they all looked stunning. I was so touched that people were taking the time to come and be a part of our day.

What advice would you give to brides reading this who are planning their wedding?
False eye lashes and eye lash tints are great if you’re likely to cry! Make sure you understand the structure of the day and get someone to run the day for you, at times I was lost and it showed! If you have a break in your day after the wedding breakfast, change location within the venue for your coffee, we did and it worked really well. It gives people permission to take their leave ready to rejoin you in the evening. Make sure you have snacks in your room for a late night nibble! You won’t get to taste your buffet – you won’t care as long as everyone else is enjoying it.

My last winter wedding of 2009 was celebrated with Kate and Graham. The day started with bridal preparation and finished with an incredible firework display at Thrumpton Hall. It was the coldest wedding of the year, a beautiful winter wedding that’s for sure! A huge thank you to Kate for braving the elements, -4 degrees is not easy to deal with in a wedding dress.  A big thank you to Debbie Knox at Thrumpton Hall for hosting a flawless event. Can you tell us where and how Graham proposed? Christmas day 2008, he took me into our lounge and there on the Christmas tree were the words spelt out in little wooden letters ‘Will you marry me’ – he had the perfect ring picked out for me too.  Best Christmas present ever!

The most memorable moment of the day?

Graham- Catching a glimpse of Kate at the door way and being led down the aisle will stay with me forever.

Kate- Standing in the doorway to the church, so many wonderful friends and family smiling at me – then I peered around a bit further and saw my Graham- that was the moment for me – never forgotten.

What advice would you give to brides reading this who are planning their wedding?

You have to relax – don’t stress about anything on the day –  what will be will be.  If you’re well prepared the day will run itself.  Use your friends talents to help you!, and remember to make it personal.  It’s those little homemade touches that people will remember – those are the things that show your personalities and really make it your day.  Oh – and book Crash Taylor for your photography – he is awesome!! )

Friday was Sarah and Dominic’s wedding day at the beautiful Prestwold Hall. The day started at the family home, which was full of good times. We then headed to the church on the grounds of Prestwold Hall, stunning! After the ceremony, we all walked over to the Hall for a wonderful reception and breakfast. The food was delicious! A big thumbs up to Tillyboo Events for hosting a flawless day. The weather was awesome, cold but just what you want on a winter wedding. Sarah was a champion for braving the elements and she looked beautiful in her dress. I know you will see this on honeymoon, so a big congratulations again and live it up to the fullest. Speak soon.

People said to me don’t worry too much about the details – but do!! We had so many little touches which absolutely everyone kept commenting on. It certainly made it memorable for everyone!

I’m working on a two day intensive workshop for March. Stay tuned.

I had the great honour of being interviewed by Catherine Connor at the Annabel Williams Contemporary Photographic Training Centre located in Cumbria. In November, I was invited to the studio by Catherine to attend the Big Picture Course as a guest. The course was brilliant! There was so much valuable information packed into three very inspiring days. If you want to take your business and photography to the next level, I highly recommend you look at the incredible courses on offer. The studio is set in the beautiful Lake District, which makes the whole learning experience that much better. The Taylor family made a holiday out of it and now we want to move to the Lake District. Baby Jake loved the Beatrix Potter museum. Hopefully I will be teaching some wedding photography courses at the CPT studio in the future, so stay tuned.

Model with attitude. This was one of the photographs I took on the Big Picture course. It was taken in a barn using two off-camera Canon speedlites. I love how the flash illuminates the rain drops.
