Yesterday I was at Woodborough Hall photographing Claire and Steve’s wedding day. The bridal preparations started at Claire’s family home. We then headed to Woodborough Hall for the ceremony and reception. It was a superb day, the weather, the food and the guests were brilliant! A big thank you to Sarah at Tillyboo for hosting a flawless day and to Cathy Higgins for assisting me and stopping cars from crushing me on a busy road. We were trying to capture an image of the bride and groom with a car passing by. We got super lucky, a red Porsche came around the corner almost killing us but I nailed the shot. We got it Steve! Mr. and Mrs. Wilson are so in love and make an awesome couple. Have a great honeymoon.

My dad and I chillin’ in the French Riviera. He was swimming way to long in the sea, I went to get him as I thought he would get eaten by a shark. Check out the way I’m grabbing his arm. Classic! Must be 1979-1980.

Yesterday I photographed the beautiful wedding of Mark and Lindsey Diggle. The day started with the ceremony at St. Edward King & Martyr Church in Castle Donington and then headed to Thrumpton Hall for the reception. It was a great day and Lindsey looked beautiful in her stunning dress. We all had plenty of time to enjoy Thrumpton Hall’s gorgeous gardens before heading into the marquee for the wedding breakfast provided by McArtneys catering. As usual, the food was delicious. I want to thank Mark and Lindsey for choosing me to be part of their special day. We captured so many beautiful moments that the whole family will cherish forever. A big thank you to Cathy Higgins for assisting me on the day.

Yesterday I was at Rufford Abbey for Dawn and Andy’s engagement shoot. We were hoping for dry weather but instead we got your typical English day, grey and lot’s of rain. You can actually see the rain drops in most of the photos. Between shots we were running for the umbrellas and my camera was going under my jacket. Considering the circumstances, we got awesome Crash-Art for 2 hours of shootin’ and having fun. I can’t wait for your wedding guys, you are super cool and so in love.

For the photographers. The shoot took place between 12pm-2pm. I used a Canon 5D Mark II and switched between the Canon 70-200mm 2.8 IS L and the Canon 24-70mm 2.8 L. No reflectors were used just natural UK light. I only pulled out the 580ex flash for the last 3 images. I used manual mode for the entirety of the shoot and used various camera techniques to make it look as though we took the photos on a nice sunny spring day with some spring rain. Not the grey windy rainy day it really was. ;-)

After the summer I will be offering one to one mentor sessions. For further details click here Crash-Art mentoring.

Just received this awesome comment from Dawn and Andy – “Thanks for a fun and memorable day. You made us feel so at ease. We love all of the images, it is going to be so hard to choose one. We would have never imagined a good photograph could come from getting in a tiny hole in the wall, but with you anything is possible. It is good to know that we can rest assured knowing that you will capture our wedding day with style.”

Thanks guys I really appreciate that and can’t wait for your wedding. Crash

Baby Jake! How intelligent and awesome are those eyes? He absolutely loves his Ferrari t-shirt aunty Paullina bought for him. He wants to wear it everyday. I have a feeling he will be driving a Ferrari one day with Dad chillin’ in the passenger seat ;-) We love him so much!

Crash Taylor Photography is rockin’, just booked two more awesome Crash-Art wedding adventures for 2010 today. Between the weddings, upcoming seminars/workshops, portrait shoots and personal projects I think I’m going to have to hire a full time assistant sooner than later. Saturday I will be at Thrumpton Hall photographing the wedding adventure of Lindsey and Mark so stay tuned. Today I spent an hour at Wollaton Hall with Lindsey, Mark and their son Nico for their engagement shoot. Photos will be posted later tonight. Life is good!

Saturday Emma and I were in Northampton celebrating the wedding of Alison and Andrew. The day started with heavy rain, which was forecasted to last all day and night. Not good when it’s a marquee wedding and 60% of the photos will be taken outdoors. We arrived for bridal preparations, which took place in Alison’s parents beautiful country home. Then it was onto the ceremony in the pouring rain, so out came the umbrellas! It was a beautiful ceremony in the village church, and as the bride and groom were walking down the aisle to exit the church, it stopped raining. I couldn’t believe it! We then headed back to Alison’s family home to celebrate the rest of the day. Thank you Alison and Andrew, you, your friends and family were brilliant and we enjoyed every minute of it.  Have a great honeymoon and will speak to you soon.

A few Crash-Art favourites from the day.

I love this photo taken in Brentwood, California (1977) with me in front of my dad wanting him to take me for a ride in his new car. Boy did I love cruising in that car!  Next to us is my cousin Anthony who was visiting from the UK. Great memories!

A few snap shots I took a few days ago before our morning walk. Camera used Canon 5D Mark II, lens Canon 70-200 2.8 IS and location was the bedroom with natural light coming through a large window.

Saturday we celebrated another beautiful wedding adventure with Natalie and Giles. The super sunny and hot day started at 9am at Aveda for Natalie’s make up and hair. We then walked to the Lace Market hotel, so Natalie could get into her beautiful dress. The ceremony was across the street at St. Mary’s church. We finished the day back at the Lace Market hotel for the reception. It was different to most weddings because after dinner, speeches and cutting of the cake, Natalie and Giles said goodbye and were escorted to the airport to catch their plane to Italy. Enjoy the two romantic weeks, you deserve it big time!

We had a great day and you two are absolutely the nicest people and such a great couple. Have a great honeymoon and will speak to you soon.
