Friday I was at Wollaton Hall again for another engagement shoot with Claire and Steve. The weather was rockin’ and so were they! We had a great day and I’m really looking forward to their wedding adventure at Woodborough Hall.

Here are a few Crash-Art images. All images were shot using natural light and the Canon 5D Mark II and Canon 70-200mm.

Thursday I headed up to Manchester to visit Brett Harkness. I was invited by Brett and Kristie to attend one of their wedding portfolio days as a guest. I will be interviewing Brett in the near future so I was interested in seeing what he is doing on the education side of things. To keep a long story short, if you are a professional photographer in need of some inspiration or somebody just starting out, these courses are awesome. The day is action packed with Brett and Kristie sharing everything you need to know to take your photography and business skills to the next level. As Brett says, “I believe in straight talking, having fun and sharing as much as I can with other photographers on our courses. I will tell you what you need to know in order to make your businesses and your photographic ‘eye’ & skills grow”

It was a great day and I was definitely inspired. The delegates all said they had a great time and will be back for more. A big thank you to my new friends Brett and Kristie for inviting me to their beautiful studio. Your passion and enthusiasm is awesome. Below are a few images I took, a big thank you to the models who were rockin’ it up.

I try to take 3-5 workshops a year for inspirational purposes and to see how other professionals work. As you know, photography is something you are constantly learning and know matter how long you have been a professional photographer you should always be wanting to learn more and more in order to be the best creative artist you can be. Next year I’m hoping to make it to Paris to attend the Jerry Ghionis intensive workshop. Loving it!

Saturday I was at Woodborough Hall capturing Tracey and Rob’s special day. We had a superb time and boy do they make a great couple. Their love for each other is contagious and Rob’s speech to Tracy was absolutely brilliant, well done buddy. The weather was awesome, the hottest day of the year so far. Tracey looked stunning. A big thank you to Tillyboo events for coordinating a flawless day.

Here are a few Crash-Art images from the day.

Today I met Alison and Andrew at Wollaton Hall for their Crash-Art engagement shoot. The weather was great and the passion and love was flowing. It took a few seconds for them to warm up to the camera but once they did it was on!!! You guys rock and it was a pleasure spending a fun filled hour with you this morning. Enjoy the champagne when it arrives and I will see you at the wedding.

For the photographers reading this. The time was 10am with sun and clouds present. Camera used was Canon 5D Mark II, lens Canon 70-200 2.8 IS for all photos except the first image. No flash was used although I did have the Canon 580 ex II in the bag. Photoshop was limited to a few Crash-Art actions.

Today was Beck and Tim’s engagement shoot and Wollaton Hall. They are getting married in August and it’s going to be an awesome wedding. It was raining all morning and I thought we were going to have to cancel the shoot. We decided to meet at Wollaton Hall and take our chances. I’m glad we did because for the 90 mins we were there it was beautiful weather.  Walking back to the cars though the heavens opened. You guys were great and I hope you like the Crash-Art images. I will never forget that psycho swan and I hope they send you a new umbrella Beck. At least we saved those little Canadian babies.

A few recent photos of baby Jake and mum. Hopefully in the next month we will all be in the studio having our family photos taken. He is the coolest little dude on the planet and changing so much everyday. Time now to take him for a long walk and then come home and make salmon cream pasta. Hope everybody is having a nice weekend.

Today, I received a thank you card from Nick and Sam, which made my day. It made me feel so good I thought I would share it with you. I photographed their beautiful wedding last month in Epperstone village and at Woodborough Hall in Nottinghamshire.

“Words cannot adequately express our gratitude for everything you did to create the magical images of our special day. People should not ask themselves whether they can afford to have you take their wedding pictures; they should ask whether they can afford not to!”

Thank you so much Nick and Sam for everything, it was a pleasure to photograph your special day. The best thing about it all is that I made two new friends. No wait three, I can’t forget Lottie. :-)

Saturday was Victoria and Richard’s special day. The wedding took place in the beautiful village of Thurgaton in Nottinghamshire. We started the bridal preparations at Victoria’s family home, then headed to the church, which was a hidden gem. After the ceremony, it was back to the house for the marquee reception. It was a magnificent day, thank you both for everything you did for us and making us feel part of the family.

A big thank you to Wendy and Andy who’s wedding I photographed last year for referring Victoria and Richard.

There are so many awesome photos but here are a few Crash-Art favourites.
